Overview

These documents and forms are provided for the convenience of residents who plan on modifying their homes. Prior approval from the Board is required.

In 2011, Villa Monterey was designated and listed on the Scottsdale Historic Register. The Scottsdale Historic Preservation Ordinance is used to protect and preserve those officially recognized on the Register. To review the entire Scottsdale HPC Historic rules and regulations, please visit scottsdaleaz.gov, then search for Villa Monterey HPC.

All exterior home modifications require VMIII Board and Scottsdale HPC approval. To simplify this procedure, we have listed the Rules, Home Modification Declaration (excerpts), Approved Color Palette, and the Home Modification Application. When completing the application, please be as detailed as possible. Once you have completed the form, please submit it to John Baughn’s email address johnwbaughn@hotmail.com.  Upon receipt, John will review, obtain Board Approval when necessary, and submit it to the City of Scottsdale for approval. Typically, Board approval is completed in one to two days. City approval can take 7 to 10 days. The City of Scottsdale timeline will vary based on the project, as some projects require an HPC hearing and may take thirty days.
